THE LEGACY OF MCA-i
After 50 years of service to working professionals in all disciplines of media, in August 2016 the non-profit, all-volunteer Media Communications Association-international (MCA-i or MCAI) had to fade to black as a national organization. Since its inception as the old ITVA it brought tens of thousands of people together for professional education and inspiration to be the best in a highly competitive and ever-changing industry. The MCAI is gone but fondly remembered. Many of it's local chapters live on as new independent organizations, still serving their communities and working media professionals. RoundTable.Media has been maintaining this list of former chapters, updating the information periodically for benefit of the public and as a tribute to the talented men an women who made ITVA and MCAI the success it was for so long.
As you will see, a few of the former chapters have reorganized into new independant groups. RoundTable.Media is happy to support both their new missions locally and the new connections between them. We know the value of networking with other Pros from all across the country and how sharing our individual expertise can lead to more work for all of us. So whether or not you were ever a member before, we recommend you join one of these groups -- and stay connected through RoundTable.Media with tools such as the MCAI Alumni group on our Community/front page.
